▲ Research
My research interests involves in cultural and social anthropology, gender, shaman studies, subaltern studies and colonial history of Taiwan. My research mainly focus on the relationships between cultural practices of indigenous society, especially Thao people, and the government. My recent research has two main directions: 1) Subaltern studies: What is the power and strategies of Taiwanese indigenous population as the subaltern? 2) Endangered languages: Is an endangered language like Thao still an effective indicator of ethnic identity?
